Michelin Pilot Sport SUV
« on: September 13, 2019, 01:33:31 pm »
Just had a full set of these fitted.
My original Toyos had only done 14,200 miles but after nearly 6 years the tread was breaking up.
I believe this is a new type of tyre specifically designed for SUV. First impression is really good. Quiet and the car actually seems to feel smoother on the road.
Good price from Black Circles compared to the last time I bought a full set of Michelin tyres. Especially as I am in the IOM and there was no extra charge for delivery.
I will report again after they have done a few more miles.

The Michelins are a dramatic improvement over the Toyos, regardless of the price. It really does feel like a new car compared to on the Toyos

19 inch Michelin Latitude Sport 3 seem to grip well and run smooth with the 2.2 torque, even if designed around 4x4 needs. Looks like a "road tyre". Also contains silica, which I think helps in the colder weather. Yet to try out in the winter. Black Circle appear to sell them.

Totally agree with MikeTB that the Pilot Sport SUV are fantastic tyres. Replaced the original Yokohama with Latiitude sport which improved things in the wet but the Pilot sport are  superior to Latitudes in the wet and vastly superior in the dry. Even better is the improved steering feel.  There seems much less slack when turning into corners which gives great confidence and improves driving enjoyment. Seems strange they are cheaper then the Latitudes. At first i thought the prices were a misprint at Black Circles especially when they seemed to disappear after i first found them. But they are only £3 more than the Yokohamas at BC. I drive a 2 litre Petrol.
