Warning beeps
« on: November 27, 2015, 11:03:15 am »
Upon starting my CX-5 these past few days, once the engine fires up I am presented with 4 beeps and I'm at a bit of a loss as how to interpret this as nothing is illuminated on the instrument panel. I've looked through the manual but can't find anything related to 4 beeps. Perhaps I'm looking in the wrong place so would anyone have any ideas?

As the temperature has dropped in the garage to below 4°C I thought at first these 4 beeps were a warning of low outside temperatures although I can't find anything in the manual regards this. Likewise, the rear quarter of the car is parked directly next to a roof stanchion and thought perhaps it was a proximity alert but again can find nothing in the book.

You do definitely get multiple beeps when the temp is below 4C (but I couldn't say how many offhand),plus a frost symbol appears against the temp readout.

OK, Alan, I'll have to watch for that. In my version of the manual it states that a beep will be heard - note the emphasis on 'a' which I interpreted as meaning 'single' but who know, maybe it's a case of something getting lost in the translation.

I stand corrected. One beep (well, more of a bong) is all you get when the frost warning appears, it was cold enough to come on this morning. Back to square one with the four beeps.

You need to learn your beeps. I had a few go off but no lights on the dashboard,  nothing at all. When I stopped the car, checked my phone and had 6 WhatsApp messages and 3 texts - nothing to do with the car at all!! :)
