Knocking noise then cut out
« on: May 14, 2021, 06:58:07 am »
Hi guys,

I started a thread a few weeks back asking for advice on my 2014 cx5 that had cut out twice in the last month. Well, happened again this morning as I drove to work but this time when I first started the car up it didn’t sound right, I noticed a knocking coming from the front end when I revved it in neutral. I drove about half a mile and it cut out, I pulled into a car park, sat for a few minutes then tried to start the car up. Car started fine and now I have no knocking noise. I just drove 15 miles on it and it’s been fine. Does anyone know why this keeps happening? I get no warning lights on the dash when it happens at all. What could this slight knocking noise be. It’s sounds like the kind of noise you would get if say your exhaust became loose and locked against something when you revved your car (not saying that’s what it is). Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks
