Thought i would share a you tube link so you can turn off the I-Stop permanently. Everyone bleats on about this piece of crap saving money, what they don't mention is the unnecessary wear on the starter motor. I know a few people have had to spend hundreds getting starters replaced.

iStop does not use the starter motor to restart the engine - see

Well thats interesting to know after 8 year owning a Mazda - but I still will probably turn it off.
