Boot protection
« on: February 15, 2017, 06:51:46 am »
Hi,

I pick up my new CX5 soon and as I have two dogs I wondered if anyone could suggest a good boot floor mat and possibly bumper stuff plate that aren't from Mazda, i.e. a bit cheaper?

Thanks for your help

Graham

Got one of these for our CX-5 not the best in the world but cheap does protect the legs when loading and the plastic from scratches, also padded one available

I have one of those, it fits where it touches...  ::) But is OK for the occasional trip where I have additional dogs who enjoy mud more that our greyhound does. However, the self adhesive velcro for the sides is good for a couple of goes only. Beneath that I have the Mazda floor tray http://mazda-cx5.sgpetch.co.uk/pages/accessories/detail/model=414/category=ROOT-interior/accessory=Trunk+liner/id=12623 That lives in the car permanently and is worth every penny paid for it many times over!

Well ours fits fine not perfect as it is not type specific just needed some time getting the position correct, agree about the self adhesive Velcro.  But going to sort that out with some acetone to clean the plastic, to bare plastic as it were (no auto glim stuff on it) and try again when clean as I have some unbelievably sticky spare Velcro strips.  Also I don't have dogs so the it doesn't have to be that secure its just there to prevent building, garden waste, cycles and the like scratching the plastic and to keep my trouser legs clean when loading the boot, As for price it depends how tight fisted you are and as my wife is Cornish that's very after 23 years of her training. :o  Price is a bit of a moot point anyway as the boot tray was with the car.

Drivell :)

I've ordered a made to measure one from Rhino UK.  Not cheap but fits the CX5 boot to a tee.
