Temperature & TPMS Display query
« on: May 17, 2019, 11:14:17 am »
Am I missing a trick but in all my recent cars I could see a display of external temperature.
That just doesn't seem to be a feature on my car & I can't see anything in settings to turn it on. Handbook indicates it appears momentarily when ignition turned on, but I haven't seen on my dashboard :-[
TPMS too is very different from my last Qashqai, in that when driving you could press
switch on side of steering wheel to toggle through settings, and it'd show your tyre readings.

Again reading my CX-5 manual, it seems only time  TPMS indication will appear is when there's a problem; would be good if you could see tyre pressures from cabin.

On image, the pressures in blue are correct ones, readings either side are what each tyre is currently.

I don't see that on mine; can't post an image as Admin have removed 2 earlier post images.

Why they breached some policy is puzzling to me, and the policy needs reviewing.

I was a very active member of the Qashqai forum and there was no such petty restriction;
images are posted to aid the post..picture paints a thousand words and all that :D

Please read the link that I sent you by PM.  It explains the reasons behind the action and offers a solution.   It is not negotiable.  The same link is reproduced above.

Tks for that; but if I post an image link and use the image icon, and paste relevant url in between, will that not render here, or only if it has recognised image type at end of url ie jpeg for example?

My google image doesn't have that.

Don't really want to have to create another web posting account.

Very nice but it’s got a Renault with Nissan badges attached to it.
Eagles may soar high but weasels don't get sucked into jet engines.......

but built to Japanese standards in sunny Sunderland, UK.
Never had any issues in my 4 years of ownership.

When I managed a sales team, we were forced by a Paris based Euro Director
 to only have French cars on the availability list. (Surprise, surprise!)
The Renaults we had were forever off the road because of quality issues;
I'd never spend my money on a French vehicle. :o

The Qashqai is the most successful model in Europe in Nissan's history as a matter
of interest.

So what made you buy a CX5 if the QuishQuosh was so good ?

My thoughts exactly. We used to have the same with Xtrailman on these boards who used to say he missed his Xtrail. Why buy a CX5 then if it's so bad? ::)
The internet is a huge dumpster. You have to look hard to find anything useful.

Looking for change of car, and the CX-5 was top of my list after my research.
On line video reviews only confirmed this, allied to fact that there's a local dealer
here, unlike for Toyota.

Few things I miss, are the automatic application of the E Brake,
when switching ignition off, and the orange LED showing constantly when on;
reassures you when you check through the window, having parked :)

Having tyre pressures instantly available on dash- saves all that kneeling down to physically check tyres :o

The zero VED was good, but that's no longer available for new cars, even if engine under
the 99gms limit re CO2 emissions.

Nice to have an opening sun roof again; some years since I had one.
On the Qashqai(QQ) there was a long glass roof, but it didn't open; believe Yanks call that sort
a Moon Roof ;)

Powered tailgate is a great feature, and the bonnets not too much of an effort to lift.
QQ bonnets seriously heavy so a group of us (on QQ forum) sourced a struts conversion kit
from a Russian supplier; these were easy to fit & made bonnet opening a doddle ::)

Surprised why so few manufacturers fit struts on the bonnet these days.

Off to West Coast of Ireland on hols next month, so it'll have a good run getting there.
