2019 GT 2.5 Petrol Turbo AWD
« on: July 14, 2019, 05:27:46 am »
What a terrific vehicle, very smooth from the sunroof to the clever cruise control and radar braking system.
All of you Mazda owners have been spoilt for a while, only have 250 km on so far and it’s running at 9 litres to 100km, my v8 was 14 litres to the 100km on a good day, not saying that was bad o to 100 5.5 seconds.
The turbo petrol pushes the cx5 along with ease, look forward to when it’s run in.

The 2.5L is not available in any form in the UK :(
The internet is a huge dumpster. You have to look hard to find anything useful.

The turbo petrol is great shame you cannot buy there, are the car sales still pushing diesel, and I used to live in Wingerworth Derbyshire.

Since dieselgate, confidence in new diesel cars in the UK has plummeted even though they are now a lot cleaner and in some cases more clean than petrol, with dpf's and Adblue to cut nox emissions. I typed my reg number into the Transport for London website and I would not be penalised for a surcharge. In fact I tried my two previous CX5's (2013 and 2016) and neither of these would attract the surcharge. Yet the used diesel car market is apparently quite alive and well even though older diesels are more dirty. ???
I'm more the Derby area although as National Trust members we do visit Hardwick Hall often.

You sure have done well with your diesel motors, not so in Australia, plenty 0f DPF issues here, must be a different quality of fuel, we heard Europe was getting rid of diesel, obviously not the case with you.

Couldn't find the details on TFL website but tried DVLA. Cost 50p to access but found full details including clear statement that it meets Euro 6.

Strange you didn't find it. Did you try https://tfl.gov.uk/modes/driving/check-your-vehicle-35896

That’s the engine I wanted, but they only offer the bottom petrol spec in the UK. Since the Diesel market has been overtaken by hybrids and electric (which are becoming practical on our small island), I think Mazda is about 5 years behind the market curve.

-edit- My guess is that Mazda have limited worldwide manufacturing capacity, and have worked out that the UK demand for diesel is sufficient to keep their factory orders where they want them for the CX5 in the UK.

I look at the site but don't very often post!! Strange that the 2.5 is not available in the UK. It's here in France in the 194 bhp guise. This may be my next choice (must try the CX-30 though, just that bit smaller).

The CX30 will launch with standard engines but it should get the Skyactive X if you can wait.

My cx5 is over a year old now, runs better than new and now uses about 8 litres to the 100 km, a great car.
