And the saga continues. I ordered a navteq card off ebay on Friday. On Saturday it arrived but was a tom tom card. Emailed the seller who first told me I had read the advert wrong. Silly me, no I didn't he sent the wrong one. Received the correct one on Wednesday put it in the car and it didn't work it just said invalid sd. I removed it and updated it via mazda toolbox which took two hours. Tried it in the car and it still doesent work. I now have our it guy at work checking out the files to see if its locked to a specific vin no. I need to get this damn thing working. At least I have sold on the incorrect cards and am only out of pocket £60. and not £650. I will get my sat nav working.

Sorry to ask again.
Can anyone tell me who the sat nav is by, as in who/what does it use TomTom etc and how fast is it.
Can you tun off the POI etc like you can on a screen mounted sat nav.
How do people find the distance to roundabout voice directions. In the Qashqai its more or less when your up on it..very late.
Thanks again.

Can't tell you anything about the in-built Tom-Tom but would still add that before finally choosing which CX-5 model I would eventually settle upon I happened upon a gentleman in an East coast carpark. He was over the moon with his newly purchased Sportline but added that the Tom-Tom was the worst piece of xxxx he'd ever come across. That wasn't the first time that I'd heard such comments and so decided against the in-built Navi and opted instead to stick with my well trusted Garmin despite having to stick it on the windscreen. Why pay extra for something that you can only use when in the car and even then don't particularly need to use for 99% of the journey's undertaken. Whilst here, I'd also recommend that you think twice about the top of the range model with it's 19" wheels. The choice for eventual tyre replacement is not all that great and in my opinion if you're going to tow anything then 17" wheels are a much better option. All the preceding is my own personal opinion of course to which others may well have particular views of their own.

Are you asking about the 2012 to 2014 model or the latest 2015 car?

Thanks for that about the tyres, something to think about.

Sorry to divert off-thread, but...

The situation regarding tyres on the 19in wheels used to be quite restrictive as I found out http://mazdacx5forums.co.uk/index.php?topic=25.0

I'm told that there are a lot more makes available in this size now, but haven't had occasion to try them out yet.

The latest model

I'm waiting for the new model due next month so only know what I've been reading on various forums.

Only two real negatives so far, no post codes which you did get with the old TT system, although I'm told you can enter the post code on the entry box for a city, I don't know if that works though.

Second thing is no sat nav speed on the screen, something I use all the time to set CC up on my present car.

There's lots of info on utube, its the same system as the Mazda 3.
Also this link will put you onto more info.

http://www.mazda.co.uk/aboutmazda/mzd-connect/

Its not TT now I believe the maps are by Navteq.

Don't be put of with 19" wheels according to the chap I bought a set of four off he said the car handled better on the 19" than the 17" he used for the winter tyres, he traded in with the 17".

There is now no shortage of replacement tyres, and even 19" winters are now available, prices have also fallen.

Enter 225/55/19 for results.

Ps dealer told me all models now have nav.

It was there on earlier models. Perhaps a word with your dealership ??

That's one of the issues I have with the MZD system. The TomTom constantly displayed true speed. MZD displays the current speed limit which turns yellow if exceeded. No facility to display actual.

I too worried about the 19" wheels before buying but I can say they are not an issue in terms of comfort, refinement or handling. I'm used to the firmer set up of German cars,  but the 19s are much better all round on the CX5.  I've thought about getting winter tyres but haven't yet established whether buying 17 inch  winters and alloys would work / fit on the Spot Nav, and it's suspension  settings, not to mention the tpms.

17" will defiantly fit, in fact when I bought my car I was told that I could have the 17" wheels fitted, but not free which I found quite bizarre.
At the time I was concerned that I would find the 55 profile too low, having had in the past an Audi on 45 profile which was horrendous. And two Xtrails on 65 and 60 profile  which were  fine in comparison.

I had the opportunity to see two CX-5 side by side in the showroom, one on 17" the other on 19", to me the 19" looked much better. Having four test drives also confirmed the 19" were fine.
