Boot liner

I already have the boot liner tray (which I kept from my first CX5). What I need now is a liner which covers the back of the rear seats and the panels over the wheel arches. Getting fed up trying to remove dog hair from the back of the seats. Have seen quite a few on sale but they seem to be mostly "universal" fit. My experience in the past is that this means doesn't quite fit anywhere...

Any recommendations?

I use pond liner to protect the boot sides and backs for the seats, but its protection from fishing equipment and dumpit stuff, so might not be suitable for dogs.

I looked myself for a suitable liner, but as you say none actually covered everything I wanted at the right price. I use a piece of carpet to protect the boot tucked under the truck liner.

Aldi sell a cheap rubber type covering in black occasionally, I bought two and find them useful for the dump pit run, but not I would thing dog proof, I suppose it depends on how active your dog is.

Active? Don't make me laugh!!! He's a greyhound who spends most of his time like this


However, you wouldn't believe how hard it is to get short dog hair off the carpet on the back of the seats!

Found just the thing a couple of years ago from Argos, black coated nylon fabric and it was only about £15. Fitted my son's Mazda 6 Estate perfectly, may be a bit big for CX-5 but workable. It has sections with velcro that fit up both sides into wheel arches and at front edge with straps to fit onto rear seat headrests plus a drop down flap to cover rear bumper. Perfect, except his dog is a very lively Labrador and you do have to reposition it regularly!
Just checked, it was in Argos Spring/Summer 2015 at £19.99.

Now that does indeed look practical. One question - how is it secured to the side above the wheel arches? With a brand new car I'm a bit hesitant to start doing anything that involves dismantling or the drilling of holes etc. At the same time, there is so much exposed plastic and unprotected seat-back in the car that I feel that it is crying out to be protected.

Saw one of these fitted to a CX-5 whilst attending the local Supermarket here in Germany earlier this morning. It's a bit pricey but the quality is top notch and so I've ordered one.

I like the look of that, but I need the side protection up to the window level.
Can the side go higher? I also need the ski hatch open to put my rods through.

Fitted it properly today. The sides don't go any higher than shown. I'd like it a bit higher as well, but couldn't find one without paying £90+for a custom fit one. This is a so called universal one. It has two part Velcro on base and all sides, the sides use the self adhesive soft loop part which you have to locate on the panels. The front sticks straight to the carpet using the hook part as does the base. The front also has five straps to the headrests plus poppers to release it from the sides to drop the seats. Rear flap has zips either side so you can protect the inside of the hatch if you want. I've put it in then put the flexible floor tray back on top as that will protect the material.

Yes after you posted the liner I did some research on Amazon.
Even those saying they where for a CX-5 where in fact a universal fit with sides of only around 37cm. (106x97x37cm)

I already have the Mazda plastic boot liner which is great for collecting water from wet nets etc, its just the sides that I was something for, which is why I bought pond liner for a custom fit, the liner has protected 90% of the area I use, but one or two scratches are now seen high up where the liner has sagged.

The problem is getting a fix with out leaving holes etc. after the liner is removed.
