Any one else use this app? Have used it quite a bit in the past as it has podcasts of the Infinite Monkey Cage. Last couple of times, though I've had a message on the car screen to the effect of "check the device is operational" or words to that effect. Phone is on, active, has data and Bluetooth is connected to car. Any suggestions?

Problem solved. For once, it wasn't the car! App on phone had done an update which required me to log in again. Once done, it worked again.
