Skinny wheel track. Fixed by wheel spacers.

Chrome smile on the grille. Fixed with a little matte black vehicle wrap

Skinny steering wheel.

Interior lighting

Not able to switch engine off and leave radio playing (without having to press the button again to turn it back on)

No auto locking doors.

Setting a sat nav address is painful. I do it rarely, but each time I fumble about getting it wrong. Must read that manual.

Other than that I love the car. It really is worth the cash.

Two places on here it says how to do this - on auto at least!
select "N", press button, select "P", handbrake on

One point/niggle that I have not seen before:
When driving in torrential rain, water is swept off the windscreen on to the front side windows.
It is not possible to see anything in the side mirrors.

I don't have an auto so no good for me. Anyone know how to do this for a manual?

Satnav, not as good as the earlier TomTom based system, map updates and trafiic reporting not as good.

Also the audio controls are a step backwards from my 2013 model, but other than that it's a great car.

What is the step backwards with the audio?

Last car was just about useless trying to use audio, I haven't got round to even trying it on the present one, but it would be difficult to be worst, I would have thought.

My nexus 7 understands audio almost perfectly, very impressive considering my Yorkshire accent.

I am with you Dave it is a great car spoilt by the Satnav and yes Tomtom  was better once the traffic bar was sorted. This new satnav seems to be geared to people who want to mess about with music and phones  ::)

Interesting post Spacebug. Can't say I've noticed the CX-5 having a particularly skinny wheel track myself but I'd be interested to see a picture of your car with the wheel spacers fitted. (Subject to the forum photo hosting rules, obviously.) Not planning to go that way myself but would be good to see what difference it's made.

I also agree that it's infuriating that the radio switches off with the engine and you can't overide that like it seems you can in the auto. It's the same with the phone. OK, the call switches to the phone but it's still a faff if the phone is zipped away in a pocket somewhere! (I sat on my drive with the engine running for 5 mins to finish a call recently!)

My apologies, didn't make myself clear.

The radio controls are poor compared to the previous model, scrolling up and down stations is not good, and if I try this while using the satnav it stops at the same station all the time. Also  previously I had a preview indicator telling me which station I'd scrolled onto, this new model doesn't give that. The older version was a lot more user friendly and therefore less distracting.

I keep everything I want in favourites.
Such as home location, home phone number, and a list of my favourite radio channels, all selected with the controller near the parking switch.

So do I, but I want to toggle between stations and can't, it seems to lock onto the first favourite. Plus I'd still like a station preview from the satnav screen, as per my previous model.
