Driving lights ? 2014 Se-l
« on: May 15, 2020, 07:16:32 am »
Hi

My Mazda CX-5 se-l 2014 seems to have’ driving lights’ , I’m maybe missing it but I can’t see them listed in the manual. The problem is the bulbs have blown on the passenger side and I can’t work out how to replace them or what bulbs they take.

Can anyone help?

Steesh

The SE-L should have halogen lights (the Sports Nav of that age had xenons, newer Sports Nav have LED), and as far as I could figure out when I looked into fitting whiter daytime running lights (drls) into my 2017 SE-L a while ago, the Daytime Running Lights are actually a dimmed output of one of the main bulbs.  Sorry I can't remember which one tho.  If you're stuck post back and I'll have a look around.

I've had a look.  In my owners handbook (page 9-9) it states for models with halogen headlights and running lights -

The high beam bulb is a 55/15 watt H15 bulb (with a wee star and a 2 next to it).  The wee star and 2 says that it's a double filament bulb but only the 55w filament is used in the high beam.  It also states the same under running lights (wee star 4) that the 15w filament is for the DRLs.
