Coming out of a junction, my engine cut out and I had to push the car to the road side. No odd sounds/smells before this occurred.
I couldn't get the car started. Just a constant whirring sound and the engine management light was illuminated when the ignition was on. The breakdown folk managed to get the car started again (not jump starting it - just by repeatedly turning off and on and giving it plenty of gas) and the EML went off and I could drive the car home.
Is this hinting that a new battery is required? Or something else?
Thanks!
