Car mat issue - any suggestions?
« on: July 30, 2016, 11:07:10 am »
:-\ :-\I've bought a set of pretty good quality car mats, but find that the round floor studs are 11mm dia, whereas the car mat fixings (hole in the round clips) are 13mm dia. - so they don't stay on! Looking around, apparently everyone only supplies mats with 13mm.
Any thoughts where I can buy 11mm mat fixings?

Or Amazon stocks quite a wide variety.  :)

I've already got a good set of mats, all I'm looking for are mat clips with 11mm holes that I can fit to the mats. Normally the mat fixings come apart and merely snap together, so they're easy to replace - as long as I can find some.

Ah sorry - I didn't read your question properly.  No, not sure where you might get the fixings on their own I'm afraid.

There are plenty of clips available on a certain bidding site in the water. But they don't specify a size in mm . They are not expensive so might be worth a look.

Thanks for all your suggestions - I will take another good look at eBay, and maybe phone some Mazda dealerships.

I looked at my dealer fitted carpets, the carpets have a hole in them, but the "button" appears to be well secured part of the fitted carpet.
So i'm not sure what your problem is, can't you enlarge your aftermarket carpet holes to fit?

That's the real issue. My studs are very firmly affixed to the carpets, and the studs are 11mm diameter. So I'm trying to find a set of 4 fixings for the mats (already have holes in the right places) that will clip onto the studs. Needless to say, I don't want to risk damaging the carpets by removing the studs.
