Hi All,

Any views on Mazda's fixed cost service plans? Are they worth it?

Thanks in advance,

I wish I could answer that, having asked to enrol in this scheme before I took delivery of my CX5 earlier this year.

I was told it wasn't possible as I was buying the car through a Broker, (Brokers4Cars), yet another reason in my book to be very careful about buying through a Broker.

Cat.

I negotiated a service plan for ?500 and was quite happy with that.  However, I was concerned to read in last Saturday's "Honest John" that he does not recommend such plans as the services (not specifically Mazdas by the way) may not be that thorough.  Indeed, one person (not I recall a Mazda owner) reported that the oil and filter had not been changed - something crucial for any diesel with the potential for DPF issues.  My CX5 will be have its first service in August so I will be talking beforehand to the dealer about what will exactly will be carried out.

Picked my car up 3 days ago (facelift model) and took the Mazda 3 year service plan @ £299. Services at 12.5k, 25k and 37.5k miles. I think that's a pretty good deal.

Yep, that's the one they are setting up for me.
A bargain at half the normal price.

I signed up last week for the 3 year deal for £299 including VAT.  Seemingly you have 28 days from date of purchase to sign up to it - it wasn't offered at all when I bought the car but after I saw it here I asked and they agreed to do it - I wonder if the dealer has to take a hit on their normal rate along with Mazda to offer the discounted price.

I'm going for the £300 three service deal myself.

Mazda have said they subsidise the plan, I estimate the last service will be free, as I paid around £300 for the first two.

When I bought my present car the dealer gave me a plan cost of a ridiculous figure around £1200.
My son has recently taken delivery of a Mazda 3 and has paid more than £300!
